Projects
CHAPMAN ROAD
Our 2022 coastal planting day focused on protecting and providing habitat for the vulnerable Hooded Plover. 1000 plants were put in the ground by over 40 young wonderful volunteers. The main species planted being Coastal spinifex (Spinifex sericeus) due to the important habitat it provides for the Hooded Plover.
DAY STREET
The 2021 Day Street dunes project focused on allowing the heavily weed infested sand dunes of Middleton to breathe, through hard core weeding and dense plantings. Giving a chance for native vegetation to thrive and support a wide range of fauna, creating a stronger and more resilient dune environment.
KANGAROO ISLAND PROJECT
In 2022 we completed a private revegetation project in the beautiful Emu Bay area, working closely with local ecologists and nurseries to select the indigenous species to help return this cleared land to its natural state.
MIDDLETON POINT
In 2020 we hosted a planting day at the popular surf break Middleton point to bring back native edible plants including native Pig face (Carpobrotus rossi) whilst also having a focus on soil stability to prevent further erosion.
PAMOJA PROJECT
In March of 2023 we set off to Tanzania in East Africa to kick start the beginning of the PAMOJA PROJECT. Before we arrived we didn't really know what or how Breathe Easy would fit into our little adventure, we didn't even have a name for the project!!! But by the end of our time there it was clear to us what is was that Breathe Easy could do...........
THE CREEK LINE PROJECT
Our 2022 Creek Line Project was one of our biggest yet! With live music throughout the day from some of SA's finest artists, along with the music we had local food and beverages to fuel our amazing volunteers. We planted over 450 native plants, the focus to restore a chocked creek line in Aldgate (Adelaide Hills) and bring back a diverse range of understory and aquatic plants.
